2) 70(30) Vs Australia, 2007

Yuvi loved to play against big national teams like Australia & England. India was playing the semi-finals of the T20i World Cup 2007 against Australia (Who won the ODI world cup that year). India was on a backfoot with the loss of 2 wickets on 41 runs when Yuvi walked in to bat.

He completely took the game away from Australia like a storm. His thunderous knock of 70 runs in merely 30 balls assisted India in winning the match by 15 runs.

3) 138*(78) Vs England, 2008

No doubt, Yuvraj Singh was renowned as the greatest power hitter of his generation. The left-handed batter made hitting look so flawless & easy. This inning is a special one. Not because of his high strike rate but because he had a severe backache but continued to bat with a bandage on and smashed bowlers for those giant sixes.

India scored more than 380 runs with Yuvraj’s heroic inning & England were never in the chase as they were dismissed for 229 runs only.

4) 57*(65) Vs Australia, 2011

Yuvraj loved to perform against the Aussies. It is crystal clear that he played his finest innings against them. This was a knockout game, and India was five down on 187 & still needed close to 80 runs to win the game.

Yuvraj ensured India won the game with his calm & composed knock of 57*(65) with a solid partnership with Suresh Raina, as India won the match by 5 wickets.

5) 84(80) Vs Australia, 2000

The first time Yuvraj Singh walked onto the ground to bat was as an 18-year-old boy, who was high on confidence after his heroic in the recently concluded U-19 World Cup 2000, where he was the player of the tournament. He showed glimpses of a legend in the making in his first innings when he smashed the Australia bowling legends Glenn McGrath and Brett Lee to register a lightning knock of 84 runs in 80 balls.

6) 60*(25) Vs Sri Lanka, 2009

India was chasing a mammoth total of 207 runs against Sri Lanka. India was off to a flyer start with 108/2 in 11 overs but still required 99 runs off 54 balls & Yuvraj Singh- The man in form, made it look easy. He smashed bowler all-round the park for 4s & 6s to score an unbeaten 60*. He finished the game with a winning 6 & India chased down the total with 5 balls left.

7) 150(127) Vs England, 2017

After being in & out of the team for nearly 2-4 years while battling & winning the fight against cancer, Yuvi produced the magic he was known for. In 2017 against England in Cuttack, India was struggling against the English bowlers (25/3). However, it didn’t bother Yuvi’s batting for even a minute as he scored 150 runs which took India’s total to 381 runs in 50 overs.

India won the match by 15 runs, and this glimpse of old Yuvi earned him a spot in the Indian squad for Champions Trophy 2017.

8) 113 (123) Vs West Indies, 2011

This was India’s last group stage match in the 2011 World Cup, and Yuvraj Singh made it memorable. Even after building a 122 runs partnership with Virat Kohli, India could barely manage to score 268 runs as they lost their last 7 wickets within 40 runs.

However, nothing mattered or bothered the Indian team as West Indies were dismissed for 188. Yuvraj’s mind-boggling inning helped India register this win.
